A buttery double-crust apple pie filled with cinnamon-spiced apples — the ultimate comfort dessert.
Ingredients
6 large apples (peeled, cored, sliced), 3/4 cup sugar, 2 tbsp all-purpose flour, 1 tsp cinnamon, 1/4 tsp nutmeg, 1 tbsp lemon juice, 2 tbsp butter (diced), 1 egg (beaten), 2 store-bought or homemade pie crusts
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 190°C (375°F). 2. Toss apple slices with sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg and lemon juice. 3. Line a 9-inch pie dish with one crust. Fill with apple mixture; dot with butter. 4. Place second crust on top; crimp edges, cut vents. Brush with beaten egg. 5. Bake 45-55 min until crust is golden and filling is bubbly. 6. Cool at least 2 hours before slicing.
